The short version
We find beautiful (and most often vintage) designer bags and bring them to you, authenticated, honestly described, and priced fairly.
The longer version
In February of 2026 I went to White Turf, the winter horse races on the frozen lake in St. Moritz. The VIP tent was full of accomplished, elegant women, and nearly all of them were carrying one of the same two bags: a Birkin or a Mini Kelly.
The bag I still remember was a Goyard Saigon. Its owner was the most interesting woman in the room, and I don't think that was a coincidence.
That's why I started CandyShopBags. There are so many gorgeous, beautifully made handbags out there, at a fraction of the price of a Birkin, that almost no one is carrying. I find them, inspect every one in hand, and tell you exactly what you're getting, so you can carry something that feels like you.
Think of it like a candy shop: endless choices, and no reason to pick the same one as everyone else.
Most of our bags are sourced from Japan. Japan has one of the most disciplined secondhand luxury markets in the world. Bags are graded rigorously, dealers are professionalized, and pieces are cared for in a way that means a twenty-year-old bag from Tokyo often looks better than a five-year-old one from anywhere else.
My passion is finding bags with character and individuality, at a fraction of the cost. So we go looking. We buy one at a time, so when a bag sells, that's the last of that one — the next bag we find will have its own color, its own wear, its own story.
How we describe things
Honestly, and in more detail than you probably want. Every listing includes full measurements, materials, hardware, what's included, and a specific account of wear — corner rubbing, interior marks, hardware scratches, all of it, photographed. We would rather lose a sale to a disclosed flaw than win one and have you open the box disappointed.
Why the stripes
Because a bag arriving in the post should feel like a treat. We named it CandyShopBags for a reason.
